<p>The Museum of Contemporary Photography is seeking applications for a Manager of Development &amp; Marketing.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will serve as a member of the museum&#8217;s team and will have direct responsibility for all aspects of development, marketing, public relations, and membership.</p>
<p><strong>Job Requirements</strong><br />
<strong>Minimum Education &amp; Experience:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A master&#8217;s degree in communications, business, arts administration, or related field (or an equivalent degree).</li>
<li>Knowledge of, or degree, in art or art history.</li>
<li>At least four years of experience in development (not-for-profit setting preferred).</li>
<li>Proven record of attainment of funding for arts programs.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Excellent spoken and written communication skills; Ability to work with a wide variety of people inside and outside the museum, in particular the press, grants organizations, and museum patrons.</li>
<li>Background in fundraising, and promotion.</li>
<li>Experience in the maintenance of web sites and the use of new technologies in marketing museums.</li>

<p>SUMMARY:</p>
<p>The Executive Communications Director will develop scripts for financial presentations, persuasive leadership communications, high level customer correspondence, shareholder communications, executive speeches, key presentations and talking points to support the company’s top leadership with primary focus on the CEO, CFO and CTO. This position will write, edit, and develop various high-level communications messaging and materials to support the overall reputation management program. In addition, the Executive Communications Director supports the Corporate Affairs &amp; Marketing team in drafting other high-visibility printed and digital material as needed, including publications, presentations, web copy, blog posts, etc.</p>
<p>External communications is considered a critical area for the company given the increasingly high level of interest in Delphi as a public company. The Executive Communications Director will play a key senior role with department targeting messages about the automotive and technology company. This position creates speeches and presentations for a wide range of internal and external audiences including senior executive leadership, the financial community, shareholders, customers, prospects government officials, opinion leaders, the media and the public at large.</p>
<p>Specifically, the Executive Communications Director will provide the messaging expertise to position Delphi executives as thought leaders on the major issues shaping our world today.</p>

<p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>
<p>o Develop core communications materials for the company regarding key reputation management themes.</p>
<p>o Write executive speeches, key presentations and translate complex financial related materials to a broader audience.</p>

<p>Department Purpose<br />
The U.S. Media Relations Department develops and executes national media relations strategies designed to proactively tell McDonald&#8217;s story and deliver consistent, strategic brand messages to all external audiences. The department also manages brand reputation through crisis management across multiple disciplines of McDonald&#8217;s USA, to help promote and protect brand McDonald&#8217;s.</p>
<p>U.S. Media Relations is responsible for providing media relations and crisis and issues management and other responsibilities to support McDonald&#8217;s U.S. Leadership, home office departments as well as local markets, franchisees, suppliers and others, to help develop and execute media relations strategies that support business priorities, programs and leadership initiatives that drive U.S. business plans.</p>
<p>Position<br />
Working with the Director of Media Relations and the newly created role of Manager of Media Communications, the Manager of U.S. Media Relations is responsible for providing media relations counsel, strategy and support, as well as crisis and issues management to support McDonald&#8217;s U.S. business and brand.</p>
<p>Key Customers<br />
Senior leadership, Owner/Operators and Owner/Operator organizations, U.S. Marketing, field marketing &amp; communications, corporate communication peers (e.g., Global Communications, Media Relations, etc.), and others as needed pending program work.</p>
<p>Media Relations Strategy &amp; Counsel<br />
Principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Supports the development and execution of traditional media strategies in support of McDonald&#8217;s U.S. Business, strengthening overall brand reputation while also effectively managing issues.</li>
<li>Aligns media relations execution with other U.S. Communication departmental areas (e.g., public affairs, external communications and PR, internal and management communications), especially in areas of brand reputation.</li>
<li>Develops and produces branded content to share with internal and external audiences on McDonald&#8217;s USA business, brand commitments.</li>
<li>Identifies proven social strategies to reach key media audiences and influencers online while activating and measuring the impact of such engagement.</li>
<li>Proactively finds and analyzes best practices, industry data, and future trends for possible incorporation into McDonald&#8217;s traditional and social media efforts as appropriate.</li>
<li>Identifies new technologies and networks that can support McDonald&#8217;s media relations and social strategy.</li>
<li>Monitors, measures and provides feedback reporting to Director of Media Relations and other key members of the team on results of traditional media outreach, social media activation, engagement &#8216; i.e., what is working, where there are still opportunities, etc.</li>
<li>Supports cross-functional team in activating appropriate traditional media channels/response vehicles in the event of a brand issue/crisis.</li>
<li>Facilitates media, crisis and issues management training for leadership, staff, franchisees, suppliers and agency partners.</li>
<li>Manages media issues, including support of the 24-hour field assistance MAP Line.</li>
<li>Gathers, analyzes and incorporates appropriate brand and industry research to ensure that media execution resonates with and motivates our audiences.</li>
<li>Identifies and applies new, creative ways to reach McDonald&#8217;s internal and external audiences through traditional and social media.</li>
<li>Fields and manages day-to-day media inquiries.</li>
<li>Create and sustain media relationships with national print and broadcast media.</li>
<li>Execute proactive media placements to promote brand McDonald&#8217;s and support the U.S. business strategy.</li>
<li>Facilitates media interviews with company leadership and other internal subject matter experts.</li>
<li>Writes and edit press releases, media statements and other relevant communications materials.</li>
<li>Seeks ongoing development opportunities to strengthen individual leadership and counsel within traditional and social media.</li>
</ul>
<p>Relationship Building</p>
<ul>
<li>Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders across the U.S. Business, especially with those departments and individuals that the Media Relations, Social Media and External Public Relations teams support, as well as with Owner/Operators, field marketing and communications and national and local PR agencies as well as Global Media Relation Team, as well as other functional teams within U.S. Communications and the U.S. Business.</li>
<li>Creates and sustains relationships with national media.</li>
<li>Demonstrates teamwork within External Communications and the U.S. Communications team as a whole &#8216; i.e., supporting team members, providing coaching/mentoring.</li>
<li>Represents U.S. Communications both internally within the McDonald&#8217;s system and externally at industry and business functions, events, etc. Brings back knowledge and new information to the team and department in order to further collective skills development, leadership.</li>

<p>Resource Management/Administration</p>
<ul>
<li>Develops and manages resources to support ownership communications programs (e.g., budget, agency support, team support, etc.).</li>
<li>Ensures that all programs are kept within established budgets.</li>
<li>Provides Director with regular updates on resource management (e.g., quarterly budget updates/projections, agency support, etc.).</li>
<li>Complete all routine administrative functions (e.g., expense reports, budgets, etc.) in an accurate and timely fashion.</li>
</ul>

<p>Agency &amp; Vendor Management</p>
<ul>
<li>Manages national/regional PR agencies in the development of leadership media strategies to support proactive and reactive brand reputation efforts.</li>
<li>Monitors quality of work and provides ongoing feedback and counsel in ownership areas to agency partners to help them meet objectives, deliver the best work</li>
<li>Monitors and guides agency spend against established budgets to ensure effective resource management</li>

<p>Job Requirements</p>
<p>Experience &#8211; Skills Requirements:</p>
<ul>
<li>Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or other related field.</li>
<li>5-7 years Media Relations and Crisis Management experience.</li>
<li>Demonstrated knowledge of social/new media technology, as well as traditional print and broadcast media with experience in crisis/issues management.</li>
<li>Experience working with public relations agencies, account/business management.</li>
<li>Experience in content production and journalism desired.</li>
<li>Experience in multicultural media relations and engagement through social media is a plus.</li>
<li>Familiarity with traditional and social media monitoring tools and related metrics reporting.</li>
<li>Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-oriented dynamic environment with constant change.</li>

Duties may include media relations, social media strategy and execution, crisis and reputation management, event marketing and cause marketing, in addition to day-to-day client service and project management. The ideal candidate will have superb writing skills from press releases to speeches. We are looking for someone who can manage every aspect of a project from start to finish.</p>

<p>The agency serves a broad range of categories, primarily consumer. <p>The Director, Media Relations/Public Relations is a key interface between the company and the media in North America. The primary responsibility of the director is to execute the media relations strategy and optimize coverage of PHG in media outlets throughout North America. The director is responsible for writing press releases; pitching stories and securing placement of PHG related articles; developing and maintaining productive relationships with key industry, trade and consumer journalists and editors; and managing the company’s external PR agency.</p>
<p>Under the direct supervision of the Vice President, Corporate Communications, the Director, Media Relations/Public Relations shall liaise with multiple internal departments, executives and business owners to support their respective activities. There is regular interaction with senior executives, member hotels, journalists, editors and agencies.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</p>
<p>• Execute public relations strategy as directed by Vice President, Corporate Communications<br />
• Draft and edit trade and consumer press releases.<br />
• Pitch stories to press as appropriate<br />
• Liaise with external agencies, internal resources to develop press stories that support PHG corporate goals and objectives.<br />
• Build and maintain productive relationships with journalists and editors<br />
• Prepare elements of a media strategy and action plans<br />
• Serve as company spokesperson<br />
• Execute and manage regional PR budget<br />
• Manage press room on company’s website and appropriate databases, eg.Vocus<br />
• Accept additional duties and responsibilities as assigned</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p>
<p>• Minimum of seven to ten years of progressive experience in media relations.<br />
• <strong>Extremely strong written skills</strong> including writing for press releases, talking points, and feature articles<br />
• Extremely strong oral communication skills<br />
• Ability to manage multiple projects; detail oriented<br />
• Knowledge of media outlets, journalists and editors<br />
• Travel/hospitality experience preferred, but not required.<br />
• Four year degree from a colleague or university<br />
• Advance degree preferred, but not required</p>

<p>PURPOSE OF JOB:<br />
The Strategic New Businesses team is responsible for the development of the strategic direction, management, and implementation of initiatives to drive growth and profitability of the Claire’s and Icing businesses globally.</p>
<p>This Intern will work directly with the Director, Strategic New Businesses on a large ongoing market entry project to launch the Claire’s retail business in China, one of the company’s most important current growth initiatives. This project involves a large, cross-functional team across Claire’s, and therefore will provide this Intern with a broad business experience in many topics, as well as the opportunity to work with individuals across multiple functional areas.</p>
<p>The role will be based in Hoffman Estates, IL at the Claire’s Corporate Headquarters.</p>
<p>DURATION: Full-Time; June 4, 2012 – July 27, 2012</p>
<p>COMPENSATION: Paid</p>
<p>PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>
<p>Problem Solving and Analysis</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">· Perform analysis using internal and external data sources, as required to evaluate key business questions/hypotheses related to the China project<br />
· Distill implications for the Claire’s business model and business setup in China<br />
Communication and presentation· Effectively synthesize findings and recommendations in written and verbal form<br />
· Create presentation materials as required to communicate findings and recommendations to the project team, Claire’s executives, and other internal audiences<br />
Project Coordination· Plan analysis and pursue it in a structured manner<br />
· Manage/support project process (i.e., core project management disciplines such as tracking and reporting, meeting management, and team communications)</p>
