Kappa Alpha Psi educator changing the lives of kids
Daryll Blakely is a 4th grade teacher at Columbia Elementary School in Atlanta.
On Wednesdays, he and the 40 members of his ‘Boys 2 Bow Ties,’ put on their ties and perform acts of kindness for teachers and administrators at the school.
Blakeley says ‘Boys 2 Bow Ties’ is a mentoring and step team group he created for male students in 3rd through 5th grade. He says the goal of the program is to motivate young boys to become successful young men.
Blakely is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, and says his fraternity’s fundamental purpose is achievement. “I want to teach my students to achieve in every field of human endeavor.”
Blakely says some of his boys come from less fortunate homes, so he has put out a request for donations of pre-tied bow ties.
Anyone who can make a donation can reach Blakely here.
