Oklahoma City alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi inducts new members
The Oklahoma City alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Inc. inducted its newest members during its December meeting. The new inductees are Vegas McNeal, Richard David Bradford and Eddie Sarpong Jr.
McNeal is a native of Dallas and grew up in San Diego, where he attended a private boarding school from kindergarten through high school. There he was encouraged by family, educators and friends to embrace his dream of becoming an engineer, according to a newsrelease from the chapter.
McNeal attended San Diego State University on a football scholarship. Shortly after 9/11, he quit football and joined the U.S. Air Force. While on active duty, he married and is now the father of two.
In May, McNeal graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in industrial and systems engineering. He is the first in his family to attend college and the first to receive a college degree. McNeal is employed at Tinker Air Force Base as a mechanical engineer and plans to further his education at Penn State and major in engineering management.
Bradford grew up in Guthrie. He graduated from Southern Nazarene University with a bachelor of science in network management. He is married to Michele M. Bradford, and they have a daughter, Daniele, and sons, Quinton, Maxwell and Dorian.
Bradford is employed by IBC Bank and works in the information technology department. He said he now has completed a lifelong goal of becoming a member of Kappa Alpha Psi like his father and grandfather.
Sarpong moved from Alabama to Oklahoma with his family when he was in the first grade. He attended Putnam City West High School and graduated in 2001. He continued his education at the University of Central Oklahoma and graduated in December 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in computer science.
Sarpong is a service technician for Farmers Insurance, where he handles the mobile email servers for the company. He said he has culminated a 10-year dream of becoming a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
