Police say they have very few leads in their search for a missing MSU student.
Lester Jones disappeared during a trip to Jackson.
He was last seen on surveillance video at a gas station in Flowood. His cell phone was also found there.
Now his friends are pleading for help.
It’s been nearly two weeks since anyone has seen 26-year-old Lester Jones known to his friends as LJ.
“LJ is a great person. He would do anything for anyone. He’s more of a protector than anything. My years of knowing him have shown me nothing negative about him,” said Aaron Jones, who’s a friend.
A grad student at MSU, Jones is a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity and his frat brothers are joining the search for their friend.
“In circumstances like this, you can only hope for the best, not think the worst, but hopefully everything is okay,” said Rod Aikens, who’s also a friend.
Lester’s fraternity brothers have even been reaching out to students on the campus of MSU hoping to find some leads, and they’re turning to websites like facebook and myspace.
“Our frat brother Roderick, nowadays, people, they converse on facebook. That’s the quickest way to get it around to numerous amounts of people and he put a big post about it,” Aikens explained.
While friends continue to search, they’re not losing hope.
“I’m still holding on to faith that everything is okay. I’m not ruling out any negative possibilities, anything is possible. I’m just hoping for the best. I really just have to leave it in the Lord’s hands. If you’re going to pray about it there there’s no need to worry,” Jones added.
In the meantime, the Starkville Police Department is continuing their search and reaching out to several news outlets across the state hoping that will help get the word out.
If you have any information, call your local police department.
Lester was driving a blue 2002 Ford Expedition with Mississippi license plate reading KTW 714.
