Delta Soror Olive Hilliard, dies at 52

Olive Hilliard, instructor in the Department of Speech and Public Relations, died Wednesday, Feb. 24. She was 52.
Hilliard began her career at UCA in 2003, teaching in Academic Outreach, the writing department, and the speech and public relations department.
She was also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
“She was our colleague and she was our friend,” Interim Chair of Speech and Public Relations Dave Harvey said. “She’ll be much remembered.”
Visitation was held Sunday afternoon at Acklin Funeral Home in Conway. Hilliard’s funeral was held yesterday, March 2 at the Eleventh St. Baptist Church in Texarkana.
Friends and students of Hilliard may send condolences to her family through Acklin Funeral Home’s Web site. The College of Fine Arts and Communication is also planning a memorial fund in Hilliard’s honor.
